Catch up with the Eco Club

Hey there! We have recently been working on renovating the website and making sure we update our readers with news more often. Here are some of our recent events and future ones. Thanks!

San Diego City Council Meeting Prop 200

On Monday October 15th 2018, about 10 members from Eco Club traveled down to the City Council building to support the foam ban and straws/utensils upon request only. Our President Zoe Wynne spoke on behalf of the ban and a few hours later we found out the ban had passed! We won, victory for the environment!

Eco Club Adopts Law Street Beach!

This year Mission Bay Eco Club has adopted a beach! As a club we voted to adopt Palisades Park AKA Law Street Beach. We will be hosting our first cleanup on Sunday October 28th. This will be a zero waste cleanup so please bring your own reusable bag (paper works too) or bucket and gloves. We will be have a few snacks with no plastic and bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated (We will have places to refill). This cleanup requires a waiver signed by a parent so please print out and bring to an eco club meeting or the actual cleanup if you are under 18. This opportunity allows participants to gain service hours, extra credit, and Saturday school hours! Below are the english and spanish waivers.
